Updating...

Well, it's been a while since my last post, so thought I'd better say hello to everyone!  The last few weeks have been crazy, but SO MUCH FUN!  Who knew how much I would enjoy prep!  I love the kids (pretty much no behaviour, have used my thinking mat once!!) and the structure is so wonderful!  I had a go at starting my negotiated play today, so we'll see how it evolves tomorrow!!  I'm hoping that I'm doing OK!  Off to prep training next Mon and Tues at Sunshine Coast uni, so I'm sure that will help!

Our parent info afternoon is Thurs straight after 3.  My teaching partners and special ed teachers are wonderful!  My aide (Bernadette) has been really fabulous and I'm really glad to have another person in my room full time (at least until the end of this week!).  It's lovely to have someone to bounce ideas off and get support from all through the day!

Hmm...what else?  I am so lucky!  First I won a fabulous bag from Toni (which is being very well-used!!) and then today I checked the mail and found a lovely little handmade gift from Debbie!  I am truly blessed!

Mum went to the Wesley hospital today and got her 3 year clearance (from breast cancer).  Isn't it horrible that her annual check-up still affects us so greatly.  I felt so nervous for her and was so relieved to hear all is fine and clear. 

Oh and also, my long service was approved last week!  Although this may not excite many of you, I am OVER THE MOON!  I will be working 4 days a week term 3 and 4, having Fridays off.  Lots of people suggested that I take it in a lump sum, but I think this will help me gain a better work-life balance and if I like it enough, perhaps we could find a way financially to make it work into the new year...that's a long way off though!  I just can't wait!

That's about it for now, trying to get an early night, ready to get up and go again tomorrow!

How Embarrassing!

Hi!  Well, think I've had my first embarrassing moment for 2010.  Can't believe it's taken so long really!

Today, had a little issue with a child in my class, so emailed Felicity (beh. team) for her opinion. UNFORTUNATELY, it turned out that I forwarded it to the p-3 discussion list!!  OMG!  No names were mentioned (thank God) except mine. :(( 

Gosh, I guess it could have been worse.  People on the list have replied with some really good ideas...but still feel like shrinking into a corner!!

How embarrassing!!
