Yep, another one!!!

Yep, feeling a little brighter tonight, think the antibiotics are working, there were only 3 tabs. One to go in the morning and apparently they keep working for another 4 days!  Medicine is amazing hey?

Well, to keep myself busy this afternoon and tonight, I made another bag for my neice Stephanie.  I have now made 3 bags in 2 days!  I really love doing this.  So Caitlyn and Abbie's are made from the same fabric (see last post) and Steph's is made of this really cute cat fabric I bought last year with red lining.

Well, off to bed now for hopefully a good night's sleep!

Easter sewing!

The day didn't start well today, with constant coughing I felt completely out of breath.  So glad I had stayed home again and I am hoping the antibiotics hurry up and make me well!!  I have been a bit bored today, so decided to sew my little girls' Easter presents.  I think I'll fill this with a plush chicken or something similar as I'm sure the Easter Bunny will bring plenty of chocolate!!

I've been desperate to use this fabric and have thought about a few different projects, but LOVE these little bags!  I'm half way throught the second one!  It is lined with calico and should fit plenty in, DS, purse, toys etc.  It is 30x30cm.  I hope the girls like them!!!  I was surprised at how easy they have been to make!

Also, Caitlyn had her parade item today (Mum and Sharryn went to watch as I was not well enough to go!) and then won the 2nd prize in the school easter rafflle!!!  She was THRILLED!  We don't win many things, so a  lovely start to the Easter period!!!  The raffle prize had a stuffed rabbit, ceramic egg jar full of eggs, stickers and a tonne of other chocolate!!! YUMM!!!

I'm sick....

Well, today I am at home, with the flu.  I've had temps all night and can hardly move my neck.  YUK! Oh well, grumble, grumble.  I ended up putting on a "prep parade" yesterday morning.  All the parents turned up, so we had the other two prep classes as our audience and the kids sang their hearts out!  They were very cute!  Still surprised  by a couple of parents who turned up late and seemed to be upset that their kids missed out.  I had sent home a note and kept reminding the kids.  Oh well, nothing else I could do.

So now, I sit here, typing a few things to go into my TRS folder (oops! big trouble).  I have only had 1 other sick day this term and Marcia took my class, and I've had a few PDs but Marcia took the class then too, so haven't needed a folder until today.  JW was NOT impressed.  So here I sit, sweating away getting it done for tomorrow.  For those who know me well, I DON'T like being in trouble...

I hope you all have a great last 5 days of work and I can't wait to see you over the hols!!

She came 3rd!!!

Well today I did the run from work to Caitlyn's school and back in a short time again!  Very kindly, Marcia took my class for a while for me to race down to see Caitlyn run her 100m.   (((Thank goodness JW is supportive of me doing this.)))  She came third!  I was so proud!  I really think it's so important to try to make it to some of the kids big events.  It may have been only a 16 second race, but her face lit up when I saw her there before the race and as she crossed the finish line. A few seconds that I treasured sharing with her and could otherwise never have had.
Sharryn met me there too (she was at work), so thanks to her for helping me "capture the moment"!!!
Photos to come tomorrow as I left card at Mum's tonight...
Hope you are having a lovely lead up to the holidays.

Oh, only 1 gripe, my class has been pratising their parade item for about a week now, and then I read the daily notices this afternoon and see that parade is cancelled due to Naplan preparations.  Really, anything else....Can't wait to break the news to the parents and kids tomorrow morning, yeah (can you read my sarcasm?).  Grumble, grumble....

Potential??

Well, I've decided it is about time to get back into sewing and scrapping.  I haven't done either since the xmas hols, so I've visited Spotlight and a scrapbooking shop to get back my "mojo"!  I'm so excited by this little piece of fabric.  It is actually a really beautiful pink with breast cancer ribbons all over (sorry, photo not great!)  I had a project in mind, but can't elaborate too much, because it is destined to land with one of my followers!!  You will all have to wait for the finished product!!

These papers, 2 cardstock, one patterned and a sheet of cardboard stickers have made me want to scrap again!!  I was really drawn by the owls and "spring" theme!  I could have bought SO MUCH MORE!!!     Unfortunately, I have a budget and must stick to it!!!  So I look forward to using these treats sooner rather than later...I am following Blossies blog constantly, waiting to see what classes are coming up!  Actually, perhaps a scrapbooking night may be in order.

In other news, we are applying to move house tomorrow.  We have found a place across the road from the girl's school!  It is two storey, with separate living up and down (down for Mum-in-law).  We would still be renting, but after 2 1/2 years of drunks, main road traffic and a house that needs SO MUCH work it is time to move on!  So, wish me luck and I'll keep you updated.  If we get the house we'll be moving on the Easter weekend.  Our current lease finishes on 5th April and that's when we are able to take over a new contract...  Perfect timing if it all falls into place.  Then, onto home ownership, 2010 has to be our year!!!

Well, 9 days to go!  Can't wait for hols and of course, a fab night at Deb's place!!!

My baby is 6!!!

It has been so long since I"ve blogged, it took me a while to find the "sign in" button.  OK, now found, it's all good.  I'm missing everyone heaps at the moment!  Bring on our scrapbook retreat ladies!!  When, where?  I would love to help get this moving...

Also, for those of you who remember Patty Holmes (from Cab East), she had a baby girl, Lauren Hazel on Friday morning! I am going up to visit her tomorrow. Very exciting! Now, to not get clucky....

Well, my little girl turned 6 today. I still can't believe how quickly both girls are growing up. It makes me want to live in the moment and really enjoy each one! It also reminds me that I need to keep up with my scrapbooking, to remember the little things in life and one day to remind me of what we were up to.  Also makes me very excited about going back to 4 days a week next semester!!!

So here are some photos of my little Abbie today enjoying her birthday. Tomorrow we are off to Hungry Jacks for lunch with her friends from school. We spent tonight making a cake and the girls decorated it. What fun! Thought afterwards that I should have taken some photos of the process. I'm sure they ate more lollies than they used on the cake!!

I can't wait to catch up with everyone! Even just a coffee? I look forward to hearing everyone's suggestions!!! Oh, by the way, I see that Eclipse is coming out on 30th June. So, that's only 2 days after my b'day. Thought we could maybe do dinner and the movie or movie and coffee!!!

Some sisterly love to start the day!

We gave Abbie this little douchess, littlest pet shop collection and a barbie!

Cuddling cousins!!

Thanks to my Nana and Grandad for Abbie's PJs, she loves them!!!

The finished product!!  A fabulous, child-decorated cake!  They were both so proud of themselves!

Goodnight all!
