A child-free excursion!

Hi all! Well, both girl were in vacation care today (their only one for this holidays) so Mum and I went to Spotlight and Blossies, amongst other running around! It was heaps of fun! Must admit though, feeling a little guilty about leaving girls again, after they've been in care today!

First stop was school, cleaned classroom a bit, then headed off to Blossies after a coffee at Morayfield. I spent my $50 voucher - thanks again ladies! You can see my purchases below. I love the owl tree cutout and the Kaiser craft folder and organising inserts!

Then we went to spotlight, where I decided to buy fabric to make two of the owl that Debbie showed me on the "get creative" website! I can't wait to start.

After all this, I managed to get my haircut ready for Melissa's 30th dinner tonight! See you all soon!

I've had time the other night to make a tag for Toni's cancer market stall. Here it is. Unsure of whether to make more, wonder if it is good enough quality!? See what you think...Gosh, they're sideways!! Sorry, not uploading again!!!

Enjoy the last few days of holidays!

Under 8s is great!

Another great day of these holidays! I am feeling really relaxed at the moment and today just confirmed how great it is to spend time with your friends. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing group of women! I can't imagine a better people to spend time with, confide in and just to have fun with! Thanks girls.

I didn't take any photos of my own, but am keen to see the photos that Deb and Suzanne took of our play date. My girls had so much fun and were just exhausted by the end!! They both went to bed tonight and crashed!!! They were both angels all day and all afternoon.

I also need to thank Debbie who has lent me the next book of the Twilight series! I can't wait to start it. Just saw that the 1st Twilight movie is starting on foxtel box office on the 8th July! Will watch it, but doubt it will top the book.

Well, thanks again to all of those involved today, I feel really lucky to have such wonderful ladies in my life. Have a great week all!

1st week of holidays!

Well, it's been a great first week of the holidays. On Monday we went to Alma Park Zoo and even though we only went for half a day, it was still a lovely family outing! The kids loved it, I can't say the same for myself and the mud though!!!

Caitlyn spent Tues, Wed and Thurs at Wavell High SS doing a performing arts workshop through the Australian Youth Choir. So I dropped her off there at 9am each morning and picked her up at 3.30pm. Abbie and I veged out on Tuesday and cleaned a little more of my house! Wednesday we went to a local park with some of Abbie's school friends. On Thursday, my sister, Mum, Abbie and myself went to Chermside and saw The Proposal, it was FABULOUS!! I bribed Abbie with a special toy and popcorn and it worked a treat!!

Friday we visited Katrina and picked up the class guinea pigs, Sparkles and Teetsie!! They are being very well loved and keeping the girls busy. But I sat down to read a few blogs Friday afternoon and read about Suzy's party - I completely forgot!! Far out! The kids would have loved to have gone up. Oh well, maybe next time...

I have spent this weekend cleaning out downstairs and have just finished my scrapbook room! I am so excited. I cleaned out stuff I haven't used for ages and made the kids a drawer that they are allowed to use stuff from whenever they please. I am hoping to make some cards for the market stall and a few other projects I have in my mind!

Have also become ADDICTED to Twilight!!! In 5 reads, have finished the first book! Love the characters, loved the ending!! Oh so fab! If anyone is willing to lend me number 2, I'd be forever greatful! I've just loved reading it and was really disappointed when it finished, so now will have to wait for a wonderful friend!

Looking forward to Deb's on Monday and catching up on what everyone else has been up to! Suzanne and Deb are looking like professional photographers now! WOW! Your latest photos are so wonderful. Can't wait to see more.

I'll have to upload some images later, as Sean's xbox game makes it impossible for me to upload stuff! Stupid games....

Have a great week!

Happy Birthday to me!

Hi all! Well, I've had a lovely birthday. Today, I've been given a wii fit and a "personal trainer" wii application. Very lucky girl! I should be considerably fitter after the holidays!

I also got some fabulous pressies Fri night, so thanks ladies! I hope you are all enjoying the start of the holidays like I am! I just love sleeping until I like and then taking things at my own pace. Not like rushing out the door each work day!

Happy Holidays!!

Wednesday....

Hi all! I had such a fun day today! It was Under 8s day at our school. The kids moved through a tonne of fun activities all morning and then we had them play outside, and then ended the day with a movie on the smartboard and popcorn! I loved the "goop"!!!

Thank God for Katrina's artistic talent, I had a fabulous hat to wear for the morning and some very large chicken pox (according to the kids) aka...face paint!! Thanks Katrina...!

Unfortunately, I am not feeling well. Think I have a dose of the flu. Am not going to work tomorrow as my voice is all but gone! So frustrating!!! The girls are frustrated with me too! Hopefully I can just relax tomorrow, maybe watch some movies and sewing??? As well as I'm not talking! Might have to head to Drs to be sure I am not too sick!!!

Hope you are all having a nice lead up to the holidays! Hope you can make it next week. xxx

Week 8...

Hi all. Well I just thought I'd blog about the relief that a teacher feels when her report cards are done! It is amazing how much more relaxed, patient and happy I feel each semester when that huge job is done!
I had a really great day at work today. Kids were really settled, but a little sad as Katrina and I have closed our doors for at least the first part of the day. But, it seems, that it has been the best thing.
Anyways, am off to bed for the earliest night I've had in a long week! Hope you are all feeling as relaxed as I am!
Now, I intend to spend a lot of time, sewing, knitting and scrapbooking! Bring on holidays!!!

A little sad...

Hi all. Well, tomorrow my Mum and Dad are off to Canada and Alaska for the next 3 1/2 weeks. I think it's going to be a fabulous trip for them and they are so excited, but I'm not. I don't know if it is normal that a 30 year old woman can feel so upset about having her parents away for nearly one month, but that is how I find myself.

I hope they have a fantastic trip and bring back lots of pictures to share, but inside I'm nervous and a bit sad. I was reflecting on why I feel this way and decided that it must be because I think my parents are the best people in the world. I am very proud to be their daughter. I thought I'd list some of the things they do for me to help you see from my point of view.

* help look after kids after school

* often make me dinner if hubby is late

* love my kids the way that they do me, without hesistation

* come to my house at all hours because I'm worried about a noise I just heard

* print huge amount of photos for me but don't expect ink or paper in return.

There is so much more, but I'm sure you get the idea. Love you Mum and Dad, see you soon. xxx

It's a girl!!!

Hi all! Had to share some baby pics with you all. Katrina and I went to visit Melissa tonight, it was raining but we pushed on! She is just adoreable and so TINY!!! I had lots of cuddles and wanted to share them with you! Melissa is doing really well and is almost ready to head home. Thanks for letting me have the most gorgeous cuddles!
I have spent the last 2 days at a PD on ICTs with Toni and Annette. It was FANTASTIC!!! I feel so inspired and excited by what I saw and played with. Annette was typing our notes up, so if you would like a copy, just drop her an email and I'm sure she'll share. One great program to start with is wordle.net. You are able to create interesting displays of words. Hope you can enjoy this one. Perhaps I can share one each time I blog...

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Oh, I need to wish my beautiful neice Stephanie a lovely 3rd birthday!
Take care all,

Kristie. :)

A great weekend!

Well, I must say that I aspire to work 4 days a week! It has been a great weekend and I feel like I've had a good rest. After resting Friday, I felt much better. Saturday night was Caitlyn's performance with the youth choir at QPAC. She was gorgeous!!!

Deb, you will love these! I went to Target yesterday and found these placemats! I am making the beige one for me and I bought 2 of the chocolate ones for my Mum and sister to make them a bag. I think I'm going to put a strip of fabric on each side to make it wider and also add a pocket from that fabric for the inside so I can put my mobile in. I'll post the finished results soon.

Hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Kristie. :)
